Flounder

Grilled flounder. Lovely!!!

Raw squid

A lovely dish. I usually eat squid deep fried so to eat it raw is a pleasure.

Taro

Taro, a root vegetable, here served hot. Nice!

Ice fish

These raw ice fish are lovely when dipped in soy sauce.

Horseradish and mochi

This was an interesting dish. On first glance, I wasn't sure what the horseradish was cooked with. On tasting it, I realised that it had been fried with mochi, which translates as a rice cake. Strips of seaweed and radish sprouts formed the garnish.

Samosa

A Japanese take on the popular Indian dish. It wasn't so spicy but it somehow managed to taste Japanese.

Prawns and avocado

Not a particularly Japanese dish but I am happy to include it here. The avocado under the prawns was nice and chunky. It went very well with the toast. A delight to eat!

Umeboshi Nankotsu

Chicken cartilage (nankotsu) with a pickled plum sauce (umeboshi). Normally, chicken cartilage isn't so bad but the pickled plum sauce was too sour for my taste.
